When you’re trying really hard to shake off those last few pounds off or even if you just woke up about losing weight, you could add a few small lifestyle and diet changes that will reach you to your goal faster. Going into “diet mode” – trying fad diets and restricting yourself eventually leads to frustration and giving up. Instead, weave the weight loss in with almost insignificant things you do during the day and wake up one day to the new you!

  1. Empty Stomach Empty Muscle
    If you’re an early trainer, and you scamper away to the gym in a hurry – empty stomach, you’re causing yourself a great loss. It’s a simple logic of – will your car run without fuel? Fuelling your body before a workout is key for optimum results. You don’t want to be losing your muscle along with the fat.

Include a good amount of slow digesting carbs and some protein to take care of your muscles through the workout. Oatmeal, bananas, yoghurt, brown bread sandwiches are great options to go with in the mornings to make you Iron man at the gym.

  1. Skip the juice, grab the fruit!

Irrespective of the fruit or the method used for juicing, the most diverse and essential collection of nutrients comes to you through the whole fruit. For example, nutritionally, the best bit of an orange is in the white pulpy part – it contains flavonoids and vitamin C that work together, and support well-being through their interaction.

A fruit salad is almost a dessert, it gives you variety, fibre and all the energy you need. Besides, a full fruit will also leave you full enough not to binge!


  1. Tea or Coffee?

Both, if you please. These beverages have almost habituated themselves into our routine. Shunning them out completely will definitely create a void that isn’t psychologically healthy for your body. It’s never the tea or the coffee, per say that’s doing you any harm unless you’re guzzling down a litre each day. It’s the sugar, creamer and all the sinful saccharine add-ons that accompany their way to getting you out of shape.

Green tea carries a myriad of benefits, one of which being direct fat loss. Do we need to say more?
Caffeine is said to progress physical performance by mobilizing fatty acids from the fat tissues and making them available for use as energy. It doesn’t get better than that!


  1. Time to do your Groceries

If you’re starving and you choose to go grocery shopping, chances are that you’ll sail through the aisles without even recognizing what’s been tossed in the trolley.

When you’re hungry, everything looks as good as Nutella. The probability of reaching out to a bag of chips or an ice cream cone is higher just to satisfy your immediate hunger on the move. Hungry shoppers tend to muster up a whole week’s worth of unhealthy eating with one shopping experience.

Hit the supermarket like superman. Fasting most usually, affect our brains by triggering the areas associated with reward. So, have a hearty meal, and stroll through the aisles and you will surely cash out with the list you originally walked in with!
